The National Youth Choir of Northern Ireland
Pays Tribute to Long-Term Supporter
Edison ‘Wilson’ Graham MBE

The Board of the National Youth Choir of Northern Ireland (NYCNI) is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Wilson Graham, who passed away on 16 October 2025.

Wilson served as Chair of the then Ulster Youth Choir from its foundation in 1999 until 2015, and remained a steadfast supporter of the five choirs that now form NYCNI. His passion for nurturing young musical talent and his dedication to the organisation’s mission inspired generations of singers and supporters alike.

Even during his illness, Wilson remained actively involved with NYCNI and, in the summer of 2025, he worked alongside others to put forward a rescue plan designed to help sustain the organisation after it lost its Arts Council of Northern Ireland funding.

The Board extends its heartfelt sympathy to Wilson’s widow Hilary, his children Julie-Anne, Christina, and Robert, his sister Elizabeth, and all members of the family circle. His vision, leadership, and generosity of spirit will long be remembered by everyone connected with the choir.
